I began my musical career at the Music and Art School in Bielefeld, where I first took recorder and violin lessons, and later also piano lessons.
I went to the Netherlands to study the recorder, first in Utrecht with Heiko ter Schegget, then in The Hague with Peter van Heyghen. At the same time, I began to play historical bassoons. I subsequently studied these with Donna Agrell at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. I have also received lessons from Alberto Grazzi at the Scuola Civica in Milano, supported by a scholarship from the Marco Fodella Foundation. I was selected for the Ambronay Academie (2005 and 2006) and the European Union Baroque Orchestra (2007) and since then I have been touring with orchestras and early music ensembles throughout Europe, with whom I can be heard and seen in numerous CD, radio and video recordings.
I Fedeli, the ensemble for music of the 16th and 17th centuries which I co-founded, won the renowned competition for wind ensembles of early music IYAP in Antwerp in 2009.
In my adopted hometown of Leipzig, I co-founded La Rubina, an ensemble for music of the early baroque period. The ensemble's first CD “Rorate Coeli” was released by the label Raumklang. I have also conceived and produced the audio walk “Passamezzo - in the footsteps of a Leipzig town piper” for them.
Together with the children's book author Jörg Hilbert (Ritter Rost), Benjamin Harlan (puppetry) and Ensemble I Fedeli I developed a puppet theatre piece with Latin American baroque music “Himmel der Tiere” (the heaven of the animals), as well as the musical theatre piece “Barrocomatik” in collaboration with Kune Teatre.
