For me, music is communication. The ability to express what cannot be put into words.
As a musician I communicate with my fellow players in an orchestra or ensemble, and of course, with the audience. My focus is on early music and historically informed performance practice. I endeavour to come as close as possible to the composer’s original intent, to the spirit of the music of the time, and to pass this on to today’s audiences. That is why I enter into a dialogue with different art forms and develop new formats of musical outreach programmes. And since there is nobody better to tell stories to than to children, this target group is especially close to my heart.
